Movie time
Went with the future Mrs this morning to the movies. AMC has a deal on the weekends for $5 if you go before noon. She likes to movie hop, so we went and saw Stepbrothers and as soon as that ended, Dark Knight was starting in the room right next to where we were. The nice thing about going at that time is that there is nobody in the theaters. There were maybe 50 people in the Stepbrothers theater, and 20 people in the DK theater. Stepbrothers is pretty funny stuff. Just like any other Ferrell movie, if you're interested in a good story line, this movie isn't for you. If you want to go laugh your ass off, go see it. It is pretty vulgar, though, which as far as I know, is a first for WF. The F-bomb is dropped at least 50 times in this movie. And there may or may not be a scrotum scene. The weird part is that a lot of the funny lines from the trailers aren't even in the movie. But still, I'll give it 4 out of 5 helmet stickers, strictly for the hilarity that ensued.
Dark Knight, wow, I don't even know where to start. I'm not real big on comic book movies. And FMK doesn't really like them at all. But she walked out of this movie and her exact words were "Wow, that was freaking awesome". I don't know if I'm saying this because of all the hype around him and the fact that he's not here anymore, but Ledger was bigger than life. After seeing that performance, I really don't think there is anyone else that could have pulled off that character like he did. Christian Bale was alright, but as I've heard a few people say, what was up with his Batman voice? 4.75 out of 5 helmet stickers.
Funny story from the theater we saw Dark Knight. As I said, there were maybe 20 people in the theater. We were sitting towards the top, and there were two teenage girls sitting about 2-3 rows in front of us. Towards the middle of the movie, they started whispering to each other and laughing pretty loud. This went on for about 5 minutes. Finally I told them to shut it, and one of them looks back and starts mocking me by saying "shhhh" about 4 or 5 times. Apparently that was funny because they both started laughing at that. Then, so big lady that was sitting a little farther down, came up the steps and got in their face and told them to shut the hell up, and as she was walking back to her seat, the mouthy chick yelled out a spoiler for the movie, and then they both started laughing again. So the big lady walks out and gets someone from AMC to come in and points them out. The employee comes up and talks to them for a minute and they leave. That was the first time I've seen something like that in a movie, though.

How annoying! I usually kick the back of their seat until they get the hint.
